Transformers 5 is back, with Michael Bay directing and Mark Wahlberg starring and new super robots revealing.

Last summer, Paramount assembled a "Writers Room" to plan for the fifth installment of the Transformer series as well as other sequels and spin-offs. And on Jan 04, Michael Bay officially confirmed that he would return to direct Transformer 5, despite his earlier claims that Age of Extinction would be the last Transformers movie he directed. While there is still not much information about the plot of the movie, Michael Bay revealed to us some really interesting details in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine.

Rolling Stone was in Bay's office in Santa Monica when he took a video call with visual effects supervisors over at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) when they showed him "an underwater rendering of a crash-landed alien spaceship, then a new dump-truck Transformer with a cloak." However, Bay did not share more information about the new transformers and he was said to be displeased with the looks of what he saw.

As many predicted, the truck could be Long Haul, a Decepticon who used to appear in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers: Dark of the Moon, but that character is never in a cloak. As confirmed by the studio, Transformer 5 will start production in June and be released next summer.
Besides, there were many other announcements last November that the newscript would be written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway along with Ken Nolan. Earlier, Akiva Goldsman was responsible for setting up Writers' Room, however, there is still no confirmation that he will script this movie. We will have to wait until June for more information to be revealed.

And another familiar face, actor Mark Wahlberg. Mark will be back after his first appearance as Cade Yeager in Age Of Extinction. Other actors like Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor have not yet to confirm anything about their comeback-or-not. There are also rumors that Transformers 5 will be the last movie with the appearance of Optimus Prime, and after that Hasbro will release other sequels including Transformers 6,7,8… Another spin-off project is animated series Cybertron that has been being developed by scriptwriters Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man).
Transformers 5 is set to be released in the summer of 2017, 123Movies will try to keep you updated when there is more information revealed about the movie.
